We wanted to make a few notes about your battery, what affects it, and why you may see the life drop and increase.

Firstly your Verdmo V.004 uses a 18650 battery. It can be charged inside your Verdmo using a USB-C cord or you can remove the battery and charge it in an external charger. It is possible to swap batteries as well, but please check with us before hand in order to ensure the new battery will function properly as not all batteries are the same.

The battery measurement is based on the voltage of the battery. Temperature affects the voltage of your battery. The standard temperature for battery ratings is 25ºC (77ºF). What this means is that in colder temperatures the voltage of your battery will be lower than it would be at 25ºC, and hotter temperatures will result in a higher voltage.

Here is an example. These numbers are for demonstration only and assumes that the battery is charged to the same level.

  • @25ºC - Battery Level = 50%
  • @10ºC - Battery Level = 45%
  • @35ºC - Battery Level = 55%

So, if you see your battery level go up and down a change in temperature is most likely the reason. Your battery will continue to discharge and show lower levels over time though.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you are using a V.004T which has a temperature sensor, the reading is from where the sensor is, not the battery. In most cases your soil will maintain a more consistent temperature range. This means the temperature you are getting from the sensor is not the temperature of the battery.
